Halloween at Hunter’s Point South (updated)

With all details now finalized, the Hunter’s Point South neighborhood is ready for Halloween and the multitude of spooky happenings at the waterfront and beyond. Parades, Parties, Costume Contests for humans and canines… We have compiled all activities for you right here.


1. Long Island City Halloween parade, 31 October, 2014, 4:15 pm

Bigger than ever before, this year’s ‘Halloween Trick-or-Treat March’ will be attended by NYC Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer, NYS Senator Michael Gianaris and NYS Assembly Woman Cathy Nolan and is expected to draw as many as 900 people to march their way around the parks, Center Boulevard and Vernon Boulevard, which will be closed off for the time of the parade. More than 40 businesses are participating, some of them, like Ricky’s, Cranky’s, Alewife, LIC Bar, Manducatis Rustica and Modern Spaces will provide stops along the way for snacks, treats and entertainment, e.g. photos with super heroes, movies and story readings. A number of businesses will be offering dinner and drink specials and more specials have been announced via the flyer for the event. 

 



2. Halloween Maskarave Party, 31 October, 2014, 5-10 pm

Tomorrow night at Hunter’s Point South Park, Nest Seekers in cooperation with other sponsors will be hostings a free Halloween Maskarave Party with a costume contest, live music, and plenty of candy. The invitation is come-one-come-all and suitable for all ages. LIC Landing will be offering food, mulled wine and hot apple cider for purchase.HPPC will be providing community support.
