A few years ago I decided that it was time for me to enjoy the bright lights of New York City and migrate to the tiny island of an incredible skyline aka Manhattan where everyone who is anyone seemed to want to live. Being an island boy myself having born and bred in the Caribbean, I felt like it was time to return to my “island roots”, albeit an island of glitzy skyscrapers in the city that never sleeps, a far cry from the sleepy shores of the sleepy West indies.

In the first phase of a massive expansion, Citi Bike is slated to come to Long Island City and the Hunter’s Point South neighborhood in the spring of 2015. The public bicycle sharing system serving parts of New York City has announced that it is officially expanding its operations to the Queens waterfront. According to Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer’s office and subsequent media reports the area is likely to be equipped with 10 docking stations, although some of these sites may be up for review while others added.
