Looking for a piece of festive German funfair with traditional beer mugs, bratfurst and pretzels to reign in the fall season?
The Hunters Point Park Conservancy and LIC Landing are bringing Oktoberfest to Hunter’s Point South Park on Saturday.
ParkToberfest serves as a fundraiser for the local community group and for $50 per ticket, attendees will be presented with unlimited beers from breweries such as Singlecut, Harpoon, Radeberger, Hofbrau for the duration of the event, as well as a bratwurst sandwich and music performed by the Street Beat Brass Band, a New York City brass band that plays an eclectic mix of music—from New Orleans Jazz, Mexican Banda, Gospel, Klezmer, and Funk.
There will also be giveaways including T-shirts, hats and other beer-inspired gifts while other food—such as oysters by Murphy’s Bar– is available for purchase.
Tickets are available at LIC Landing and online at
parkTOBERFEST.eventbrite.com. The first 25 ticket buyers will receive a 1-litre Hofbrau Crystal mug and the next 12 ticket buyers will receive a 1-pint Hofbrau boot mug.
Once the event is finished, an after party will be hosted by Alewife NYC with beer specials available for all ParkTOBERFEST guests.
Several businesses are involved in sponsoring Parktoberfest, including LIC Landing, SKI Beer, Union Beer Distributers, Alewife, Murphy’s Bar and all the participating breweries. All proceeds will go to HPPC and will be used to host a series of events in the spring/summer of 2015.
So picture yourself in a jam-packed Munich beer tent and join the LIC crowd for the last outdoor event of the season. “O’zapft is!” (aka Bavarian for “It is tapped!”)
