On Monday, April 18, the eve of the 2016 New York democratic primary, presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders held a rally at Hunters Point South Park in Long Island City.
An estimated 3,000 people turned up at the park for the event. Sanders, the presidential hopeful, once again made his case about income equality in the hope of garnishing more New York votes.
The event took place in a significant portion of the neighborhood city park against the backdrop of the New York with the stage set in the waterfront space rented from LIC Landing. The rally also featured special guests Danny Glover, Fisher Stevens, and TV on the Radio.
The Vermont Senator also held rallies at LaGuardia community college on April 9, Washington Square Park on April 13 and Prospect Park in Brooklyn on April 17.
