Run the Waterfront 5K through Gantry Park

The route of inaugural 2016 “Run The Waterfront 5K” in Long Island City, New York will flow through the streets running alongside Gantry Park, officially known as Gantry Plaza State Park. The 5 km event which is scheduled to take place on Saturday 4th June 2016 is expected to attract more than 1000 runners and walkers from all over New York.

According to the LICpost, the event is being organised by the Post in conjunction with the Hunters Point Parks Conservancy, Long Island City Runners and Woodside-Sunnyside Runners. Proceeds from the event will go to the Conservancy which helps with the upkeep of Hunters Point South Park and Gantry Park on the Long Island City waterfront.
