TF Connerstone, the company that has dominated constriction on the Long Island City waterfront with a slew of six high-rise buildings along the Gantry Plaza State Park, has been awarded the contract along with nonprofit Selfhelp Community Services to build phase two of the massive Hunters Point South project.
In this phase, two aparment buildings 42 and 36 stories high with a total of 1193 apartment will rise from the once industrial soil of Hunters Point waterfront. The majority of the apartments will be affordable for middle income families and senior citizens while an estimated 400 are expected to be leased at market rates,
The two new high-rises will follow the first two currently under construction which are now over 35% completed.
