The application period for rentals at Phase 1 of the Hunters Point South Development in Long Island City Queens, began on Wednesday 15th October 2014.
The long anticipated lottery for these 925 affordable housing units in the burgeoning community finally opened up to the pubic after several years of planning and development.
Over the past few weeks, hundreds of people attended town hall meetings in Sunnyside, Woodside and Long Island City to hear more about the new development, the eligibility requirements, and how to go about preparing and submitting an application.
The massive seven building high-rise waterfront project will accept applications until December 15, 2014 for two of its properties – Hunter’s Point South Crossing and Hunter’s Point South Commons. Following this, applications will be screened, evaluated and processed by the NYC housing lottery based on low and moderate income levels.
